Passion

What is passion really? Why do people need to have passion in his or her life? And why do people need to find it to be happy?

For me, passion is something bigger than yourself. It is something more important than yourself. Passion is what you love to do and what you will keep doing even when nobody wants to pay you for doing it. Passion is something that you do wholeheartedly until somebody find you and pay you for it. That is how powerful passion is.

That leads us to another question.

How to look for your passion? How do you know it is your passion?

I read it somewhere before, you need to stay curious and keep exploring to find out what your passion is. That’s it. How easy is that? When you were a child, there must be a time when you knew what you wanted to be when you grew up. Maybe you wanted to be a teacher, a sailorman, or even a butcher. But after you grew up, you realised that what you wanted to be when you were a child, you didn’t want it anymore. Either your environment didn’t support you or maybe you found out you didn’t really like to be a butcher or other reasons.

And that brings you to this point.

So what do I really like to do? What do I really love to do?

Steve Jobs said stay hungry, stay foolish. I say, stay curious, keep exploring. If you are interested in let’s say, music, so go find out and explore the possibility of it. You can ask yourself, what kind of music you do like, why you like it, and is it as a hobby or really something you want to do seriously for your whole life. What is the part of music that you like, is it singing the tune, or is it playing the instrument, or else. Just keep exploring. And in the end you will know, what your true calling is. What your passion is.

Every man in this world was created to do something great with his life. We has purpose for our life. We just need to keep growing and find out what it is that we are meant to do in this world. So don’t stop and don’t give up. As Steve Jobs said, don’t settle.

–This post was my writing back in Nov 2012 for AKLC test purpose. I passed – if you are curious ;)
